Do you have anything more to share about your progress & results?

Like, did you get somewhere with using an ultrasonic sensor?

I saw that papa, thanks! I've unfortunately been busy with the new year, so I haven't really made any progress at all, but I'm have some leave from work coming up next month, so hopefully I'll have some more time.
