HI All, I have a question regarding OpenHAB and MQTT. I have created an item which shows up in the UI but the value from the MQTT topic never gets populated. I can see the MQTT status updates in the log but the value does not get reflected in the UI.
This is what I see in the OpenHAB event log: Office_Door state updated to ON (or OFF)
This is how I have defined the item: Contact Office_Door "Office Door[MAP(door.map):%s]" (Office) { mqtt="<[mosquitto:home/rfm_gw/nb/node03/dev40:state:default]" }
Here are the contents of my door.map: ON=closed
OFF=open
undefined=Unknown
Any thoughts?
Thank you.

Hi ray , your configuration seems OK. You might want to compare to the config I'm using at: github.com/computourist/RFM69-MQTT-client/tree/master/Openhab%20ExampleThere could be another cause for your problem. I noticed that lately the (Android) Openhab App does not update the screen. If you shift the app to the background and bring it back again the screen will update. So it could well be that your configuration is not to blame. You might want to try accessing myOpenhab using a browser to determine the cause of your problem. The web page will instantly update on any state change. [EDIT] disregard that last remark. My server was experiencing some problems causing the app to misbehave. After a reboot the app is OK.
